Leaving Oz - Arrival, Bangkok

Together, we finally left home bound for a working holiday in the Uk. After packing up our flat and selling our car, fostering off our cat, we boarded a plane and said bye to so many great people.
First stop was Sydney to see Ben's Grandparents, Keith and Norma, for great conversations and a good old spoiling.
Two months travelling around South East Asia was next on the hit list.
Arrived in Bangkok after a long and boring flight, into the new airport. It looked pretty slick and we through customs in a flash. We've been to Bangkok before, and although we could never live there, it's starting to feel like home, if that's possible.
We stayed at the Atlanta Hotel in Sukhumvit; this place is a self-confessed crusader against sex tourism in Thailand. Refreshing, as Sukhumvit is the mecca for sexpats.
The Atlanta is stuck in a 1950s time warp, with looped music and the same furnishings and interior decoration as you'd expect in Happy Days. Check out the website www.theatlantahotel.bizland.com/
There are signs everywhere at The Atlanta saying complaints are not welcome, because they are a ‘budget’ hotel. Also, if you upset staff with your unreasonable expectations, they settle the bill and you’re out the door! Amazing.
We spent a few days seeing some of the sights we missed last time. We also spent plenty of time in the pool with the heat and humidity too much for anything too strenuous.

Doing it hard
I think I might save a half naked photo of pasty Ben lounging around in the pool in Bangkok to my desktop to remind me of how much i despise you right now! Ha, looks like your living it up buddy - good to see! I hope you and Andrea continue to have a blast. Will try and keep in touch - p.s 'Fred' from Melb Victory sold to American Club (DC), not happy!
