This is a quick blog to highlight some of the fun things that have been happening in Bangers in the last couple of weeks.
A few weeks ago Grade two had an excursion to the Elephant and Crocodile Farm about 1 hour out of Bangers - good times were had by all and I was impressed with the Thai ability to drug large animals and allow small children to touch and play with them (i.e. tigers and elephants). They had also managed to train elephants to do a range of things - play football, dance and play the drums - needless to say the kids were very impressed while i was very perturbed!
We then had the Thai water festival two weeks ago on a Sunday night that has people sending off beautifully made flower arrangements down the river to wash away the bad "vibes" and invite new, better things for the future. It was a really beautiful night and the crew from school hired a boat to go down the river and watch the fireworks.
Most recently on Saturday I travelled to Saraburi and Lop Buri to look at the millions of sunflowers in the loads of
fields lining the road - it is very yellow and we frollicked till our hearts content. We got an XL tuk-tuk the 40 kilometres out of the town and enjoyed the 43 degree heat - I actually got a touch of sunstroke and had to spend the eveing in bed, but besides that the sunflowers were a great day out of bangkok
Apart from that not too much has been going on here, same old - same old.
Let me know whats been happening with you all
