Cycling in the heat - great idea!

Thursday 2nd March 2006 Ayuthaya (old capital of Siam) (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

bloody hell was it hot!! - but then again what did i expect riding around in the midday heat on bicycles!!! What does it say in the lonely planet... 'best visited by bicycle'... yeah if it's not 40 degrees out and as humid as you like!!!! certainly got my dose of exercise mind!!!

did the trip to Ayuthaya from Bangkok by train, one way in 2nd and tuther 3rd class...

Words to sum up Ayuthaya - lots of ruins..!!

But for those who want a bit a cultcha...

Wat Phra Si Sanphet
- Three cones (chedi) that look pretty amazing if your camera can fit them all in!

Wihaan Phra Mongkhon Bophit (no nothing do do with the game!!)
- Contains the largest bronze seated budda in thailand - bloody massive!

Wat Phra Mahathat
- One of the first khmer style praang (staggered stone cones). the budda head in the tree is one of the most photographed sites - well it would be if the japanese stopped laying infront of it and posing for the fiftieth photo on the next
