left bangkok and traveled 1 hour by train north to ayuthaya an island formed by the merging of 3 rivers and a former thai capital though thailand seems to have more capitals than a word document,looked for a place given in the lonely planet in sweltering heat but we were told they had no rooms decided to have a few cold ones while we came up with a plan.we knew there were a few guesthouses within spitting distance so we wouldn't be hard pressed to find a room.
got chatting to a german guy called stefan who was stopping over before heading into laos
while chatting i saw a cute girl sitting alone and being in the traveler state of mind called her over she was from norway spending her last month in thailand on her way home from being in australia for the last 7 months
mean while barry had found us a room in the pu inn
after a quick shower and change [you tend to change at least 2 times a day when in thailand but that comes with the teritory].up to the markets for some thai fried rice,then back to stefan and annette for more beers and a chat
got chatting to an english guy called jay who had seen barry literaly trip up the stairs while looking for a room earlier in the day
it was fun to watch stefan and jay interact jay being an outward extrovert gessa and stefan being a quiet spoken german we went bar hopping eventualy ending up in our room at 3 in the morning
i suddenly realised annette was a lone female traveller surrounded by 4 man she had only met that day but felt compelled to be the gentleman and walk her home agreeing to walk her home agreeing to meet the next day for breakfast ,stefan had long since gone to his room
i left barry and jay to there hyper excited discussion and went to bed
