39 Baht steak!!! Yum!
On January 9, 2007, we flew from Yangon Myanmar to Bangkok, Thailand. We immediately make our way to Ayutthaya, an hour north of Bangkok.

We learned of the Bangkok bombings on Dec 31, 2006 and just like to play safe and stay away from Bangkok.

We used our time in Ayutthaya to recharge, to do our laundry, to update our travel journals, and to plan our next moves.

Ayutthaya is famous for its temple ruins, similar to Sukothai. We visited Sukothai last year, and therefore not as enthusiastic to visit the ruins.

We did not do very much in Ayutthaya, we had a two-hour massage, ate a lot, and walked the Ayutthaya ruins for half a day.

Guesthouses, comparatively, are more expensive for this backpacker hub. However, food is good here, especially after travelling in Myanmar.

On Jan 12, we took the overnight bus north to Chiang Mai.
