It's crazy, but 2010 is year 99 in Taiwan. In 1911 Sun Yat-sen was the first president so Taiwan will be 100 years old in 2011. These students were having people pose with their sign as part of an art project

Taiwanese take pictures holding their hands in a peace sign. Alexa once asked why and was told "what else would we do with our hands"? Hmmm

Turns out these are the little doll-like figures 7-11 uses for everything in Taiwan. On the left is Lock and on the right is Open - has nothing to do with store hours.
