This happen in the first month or so of my stay in Taiwan. Lily found a volunteer organization which turned out to be HUGE and importnat; not just in Taiwan but globally as well. I will elaborate later....I always say that, but I have a ton of papers and plans to finish! Quick thing to note in that Tzu Chi is a Buddhist organization and has done a lot of things from education, volunteer and aid work, and health and wellness. They have their own hospital and college! When we visited, there were only a small group of us that went, it was the 20 twentieth anniversary of the Foreign Language Program. We were given a tour and fed. Enjoy the pictures.

Also, this is quite important and interesting, the Tzu Chi Foundation was one of three aid organizations allowed on Ground Zero after 9/11. THe other two were the Red Cross and Salvation Army.

We had to take off our shoes when we entered. They gave us socks with little grippies on the bottom.
