Returning to Kaohsiung

We had lovely flights for our return trip to Kaohsiung. The trip went according to plan, and we arrived in Kaohsiung late Monday evening. Luigui Island Temple

It is astounding how colorful the ceramic decorations are on the roofs of the temples. Remember, they are on the edge of the ocean and exposed to the salt air, and still maintain their detail and color.

Hiking Path

We stopped at a few lookout spots and hiked through the trees. They make the paths so people do not go wandering into the woods and create paths that might erode the terrain.

Tree Lined Roads

It felt so cool driving along these little roads through the trees.

Lunch Time

We have to use the point and pay method here, no one understands English and we do not speak any Mandarin. We managed to order what it was we wanted to eat.

Crab Crossing! Really that was the sign!

Apparently, every morning, there is a procession of crabs that cross the road to the ocean, and make their way back to the jungle for the evening.

Picturesque Luigui Island

We followed the coast road around the island, then enjoyed a few cold ones before boarding the ferry for the trip back home.
