Baseball game and markets

September 9 2008: Baseball!!! baseball is a huge deal in korea. We went with a bunch of davids friends to see the LG twins against the SK baseball club. (Baseball teams are named after companies, hence LG the electronic company, and SK is a telecom company). It was nuts. I can only compare it to a european soccer game, where the crowds are chanting in unison. I posted a video to give you somewhat of an experience. The hight light of the game was getting a baseball thrown to me by one of the outfielders. My collection of pro baseballs is getting quite respectable, i now have 2 😉. The game itself was great, the LG twins were the home team, and they were down 5-0 in the bottom of the 8th, before getting 4 runs including a 2-run homer in the bottom of the eighth. LG then won it in the bottom of the ninth with a two run single. The place exploded. After the game, we all went back and took part in a very important korean tradition... drinking beers in front of the mini-stop, a 7-11 type conveinance store. Every night you will see drunk business men stumlbing around, sometimes passing out on the sidewalk. No one takes any notice, i guess it is quite a common occurance. Today, september the 9th, we took it easy, going into seoul to a couple of markets, constantly being hasseled to get fitted suits or jewlerry. It was straight out of a russell peters sketch, one guy actually said to me "you look like nice guy, i give you best price". Ha! it doesnt get any better than that!
