Night Safari
In the morning, the 10 year old came back from one of his friends houses. We went out for lunch at a nice little restaurant by their house. It was really good food, chicken Chinese broccoli, rice and soup, all really good. We then went to the mall to pick up some stuff and get sherbet. That night, me and Dad went to the night safari. We were there till 11:00pm. We first arrived and were just at the start of the fire pirates show, 2 men spitting gas out and holding out a torch making long spurts, shor spurts and making circles of fire. They would have to back up not to get burnt. It is so amazing how they do it and not getting burnt. The gas was in a bottle. Nearly at the end, they got someone else up, someone watching. He looked really scared, when he went up. They joked around with him making it look like he was going to eat the flame. After, they really did it, not the man that was there but one of the show men. They are crazy in my point of view. We finally went in once
the show was over. We went inside THE NIGHT SAFARI!. We were told that the animal show would be at ten so we planned to be in line half an hour early to get a seat. So we went on one of the trails where we saw wallabies and kangaroos in a big fenced area where you walk right beside them. One of them crossed right in front of us. I was scared that it would turn on us and kick us in the stomach. We saw the cave bugs, arachnids, and animals like scorpions and rats. The scorpions had black lights on them so they were glowing in the dark. It's very cool, they were all over the place. The only thing o the trail that was too bad was that the swing bridge was in re-building and repair so we had to turn around or go on another trail. But we had to go back to get to the show on time. We saw a python that was hiding from all the exit men, but we had to hurry back so we didn't miss the show. So we couldn't wait and see if he would move. We got there and were at the front of the line, so we got really good seats. When we finally went in, it was really dark at first, then the lights came up and no one was on the stage at first. We all just heard a woman's voice then there was a sound of rustling and to our surprise...there were ropes above our heads and two monkeys climbing on them. The girl running the show came out and one climbed on her arm. She explained how these monkeys acted and what they ate. Then the show really started. First a little armadillo like animal walked out onto the stage and out again in a slow time. She and her assistants brought out so many different animals, interacting with the crowd. One man got to hold a python. I was jealous of him. One of the assistants brought out a jungle cat and put some meat on a stick and the cat would jump 2 meters in the air and grab the meat off the stick. Then two giant otters came and did come recycling for us. They differentiated the tin from the paper and plastic. We saw on the hill behind her, there was a hyena that howled and howled at the moon. That marked the end of the show. So we went out and hopped on the next car train that was there and got the whole row to ourselves. There was a guide that told us where to look when we were passing different parts of the zoo. We stopped at the only other stop on the track that you can.. It's where one of the trails start, the one where you get to see the cloud leopard, porcupine, fruit bat, and flying squirrels. There were other animals on the trail like big rodents and other tree cats. The clouded leopard is a really beautiful cat. Their spots are filled in or really thick At first we could only see the tail of one. We were on the wrong side of the enclosure. So we walked around the enclosure to see the leopard's face, what beautiful animals. It was getting late so we had to move on and we went to the flying squirrels habitat in a giant fenced area that we were allowed to walk in. We watched them glide around and we were really lucky that it was feeding time so they came gliding in and getting the food out of the buckets that were hung in the tree. So they had to so some exercise not laze around all day long. Me and Dad saw two different squirrels do a glide right in front of use, crazy stuff. We entered through the exit so we left and then entered right back in to hae the short cut tot he next enclosure of fruit bats. Another walk through since fruit bats only eat fruit and don't bother humans. They are much bigger then I had thought and a lot cooler when they fly with their leathery wings, and echo location, and their furry bodies. There were so many of them, all through the cage, there must have been 100 in there, flying around, almost hitting our head. But of course, that would nearly be impossible since they are so good at locating. They don't hit things a lot, only when there are nets and the airwaves don't hit a solid space, then they run into them. We escaped the bats, just to run into... a pig like animal with a really weird name I can't pronounce. there were monkeys in the same enclosure as the pig like things, the same monkeys as in the show earlier. We were running out of time, and we were starting to run ourselves. We got to see the porcupines at feeding time, they are so cute. While they eat they fight for the lettuce, carrots and peppers. The group for porcupines is everything. That's probably the reason they are so big and fat. We then came up to a leopard in a tree, not quite the same as when they are in the wild, but nice to see them really close, not a few meters away. We ended up at the strain stop and it was just getting there so we hopped on to go through the trail again and see lions, and asian elephants. Me and Dad hadn't seen them before. They are smaller and the females don't have tusks opposed to the African elephant that both have tasks. The last few were the tigers, they are so cool!!! Thery are amazing creatures hunting at night, so silent and deadly like a viper with extreme striking speed and vicious attacks. But that was the end. We left around eleven to twelve, and got home a little later. We went straight to bed. I was out in seconds, fast asleep. In the morning, we had planned to go to a small island where you can just go around the island on bicycles, no cars since it's so small, but our plans changed. We still needed to pack and wanted to pick up some technology stuff for Dad's computer. So after we had lunch at a nice Chinese restaurant, we went to the store with the mom and youngest son. It was a big mall, different then the one we went to before, and a little more crowded. we went up to the 3rd floor where we found the electronics shop. The mom went and did her shopping and me, Dad, and the 10 year old went to the basement to get frozen yogurt and to find a 6 watt converter, and some other stuff. There were really weird flavours of frozen yogurt, like panda. That's the one I had. It was OK. When our shopping was done we found the mom and took the tram home. Later we had supper early then had to go to the air port. They gave us Chinese New Year presents as we left. Thank you all for reading and I'm sorry i could not finish my blogs I my finish it in the future any way thank you
