Sometimes I wish I was the pope. I see his laughing face. It is on an enormous billboard facing Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. 'The people of the Philippines welcome pope Francis', it says. For us though there is nobody. Not even a single Philippino with a tiny caption saying 'Airport Hotel Manila welcomes Linda and Andre'.
