Sunday June 25th I woke up very early on Sunday due to traffic in the road. I took a shower, packed my backpack, checked out and got into a taxi. I had originally planned to stay the day in Manila and take an overnight bus to Banaue at 22:00 but the thought of staying 15 more hours in Manila was too much for me so I was going to take the first bus that I could to the mountain which happened to be one of the hourly bus to Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines. The taxi driver was friendly, he used the meter after I asked him to. The trip to the bus station I was going (there are 17 in Manila, you have to know exactly where your bus leave or you are ... read more

Sagada, Mt. Province Philippines June 1, 2006 It’s 4:20 PM and am still here in the office, got to work first! Can’t wait to see the hidden beauty of the mysterious place, Sagada. Left the office exactly 6:00 PM, got to Meanne’s office at about 20 minutes. We had dinner at Tokyo-tokyo in Greenbelt and left their office at around 8:00 PM. We were at the Autobus terminal around 8:45 PM. When we arrived there were few foreign nationals waiting also for the bus bound for Banaue. I still can’t believe myself that I will finally be going to Sagada. We planned this around April and now, we are really going! The bus left around 10:00 PM. The bus was full with different people from all walks of life and with different dialects. Oh well! might ... read more

The landscape and flora and fauna in the Northern region of the Philippines is sure something. Some say the rice terraces are the 8th wonder of the world, well they are spectacular that is for sure. The thousands of years of work and planning that went into building these mountain side terraces dose not go unnoticed. I gazed in awe and wonder for hours after arriving, a photo could never do this beautiful land justice. I spent a few days hanging out in Manila after arriving back from Donsol, did a little partying and got to spend some time with my girl Peaches. We even got matching tattoos!! Well they were henna so they only last a couple weeks, he he. The same night we went out dancing and partying, witnessed a bottle throwing fight and ... read more

I fell in love with Sagada. That is a lot since I went to Sagada not expecting much. I did not come to be impressed, but very impressed I became... March 23, 2006 We went to Autobus at around 9:30pm. The fare costs P462/pax one-way to Banawe. At around 10:15pm, the bus left the station. The route we took was different from what I had in mind. Instead of passing NLEX, we went on a different detour. I am not very sure of the towns we passed because aside from being dark, I was being lulled to sleep. Later on, I discovered we passed Nueva Vizcaya, Bayombong, Solano and Bambang. After 3 stop-overs, we reached Banawe at 7am. At the Banawe station, there were several locals offering rides going to Bontoc and some tricycles offer rides up ... read more

. It was raining in Manila when we left for Baguio, Benguet. I hesitated leaving that day but my mountaineer friend had ironed out all plans for this long weekend trip so I figured I might as well shoo away my doubts and go ahead. I slept most of the time though -- six hours from Manila to Baguio. As we arrived at the Baguio Victory Liner, we immediately bought tickets that would take us back to Manila on November 1. Baguio City In Baguio, we took our time taking pictures and going around the “touristy” (ahem) spots. (At this point in my life, travel should mean adventure not leisure.) We passed by the University of the Philippines Baguio with the usual Oblation. Then we took a cab that took us to the Philippine Military Academy. ... read more

Weeks before Holy week my cousins and I are thinking where to spend our Holy week vacation. After hours of discussion and internet searching finally we all agreed to spend it in Sagada. I've been to Sagada of April of 1998 with my 3 cousins. I find the place remote, exotic and yet beautiful, in fact this is one of the place I fell in love with. So when Sagada is the final place to visit I have no second thoughts and immediately said yes. Since some of us have been to Sagada we made a little bit twist or should I say adventure going there. We decided to take the most treacherous route, the Banaue - Sagada route. The day has come; our plan is to leave Manila @ 10pm to avoid the holy week ... read more
