Hello Everyone!

This is my first entry of my travel blog for my trip to the Philippines. You can check here anytime throughout my trip to get updates on what I am up to. Occasionally I will send you an email to let you know I have updated my blog. So Enjoy and e-mail me often cause I would love to hear stories from home. I will be back March 28 or earlier if there is a job opportunity.

I am doing disaster relief in the Albay province in a town called Santo Domingo-- its 10 hours south of Manila and about 30 miles from Legaspi. This area was hit hard by Typhoon Reming in the beginning of December. I am working with an organization called Hands On Disaster Response -- it is the same organization I worked with in Biloxi, MS last winter. I will be living with other volunteers from the US and around the world in a two story house in the center of town. You can find out more about the projects I will be working on and the organization itself, as well as some photos at HODR or the direct link to the pics is http://www.flickr.com/photos/projectsantodomingo/.

I am looking forward to a fulfilling adventure abroad and I will keep you updated about my experiences!

Keep in Touch,
Emilie
