Everest Base Camp

I awoke at midnight with a splitting headache from the altitude & had difficulties getting much sleep afterwards, so decided to skip the early morning walk up to Kalapathar (5545m). A little more than half the group left at 5:30am to trek to the summit & watch the sunrise, but only half made it to the top. The others made it part way, saw the view & headed back down because of the extreme cold; apparently it was around minus ten degrees celsius! We trekked down to Orshu for the night & my headache gradually subsided the lower we went.
