So following on from my time in Pokes, after paragliding, and yoga’ing, and eating brownies, the last morning was an early one as Lizzie had to head back to Kat, Lauren was going off on a peak climb, and I was going south to Tansen. So Lizzie and I got a pretty early start, were to be at the bus station at 6am. But after Sadhana this is not currently the ungodly hour it formally is for me. Give me a few weeks I’m sure it will be horrendous. So we got out of the bungalow and started walking towards town hoping to get a cab to take us most of the way, what would you know, we came across one after 10 minutes of walking, his first customers of the day, and wouldn’t you know, we were the first tourists in the bus park too. And as the good fortune of this day would attest, we rocked up at the exact same time as the croissant guy!!! So there we were at 6am, still dark outside, drinking black tea and eating freshly baked, still warm, chocolate croissants. And laughing about how amazing of travelers we were to make an early
morning start so magical. What a time!
The bus was not delightful, spatially, or because they started playing Nepali screech music pretty quick out of the gate, so at like 6:45am. But I enjoyed watching it all unravel and the dramatics of people getting on and off and fighting with the bus dude about price. I made sure the bus dude told me when to get off for Tansen, so I didn’t miss it. Was very glad to unroll myself at that quick tea/toilet stop that’s for sure, it was a tight squeeze for someone with any kind of junk in the trunk! And really, Nepal isn’t made for people over 5,4. And I’m only 5,5!!!
