soak up the bhuddafile atmsophere! namaste fellow goat herders!!
well finally i've made it into nepal! more force of sircumstances than anything else!
before leaveing udiaphur matt me and an ozzie girl, went on a day trip out into the country side around udiapur! this was a far cry from the usual speed tourism that me and matt had become used to! for example going round the city palace in udiaphur like a whirl wind trying to keep ahead of the groups of tourist! nb indian tourist happen to be the noiseist tourist in the world, avoid like the plauge at all cost's!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway a whole day of being a tourist, but it was well worth it just for the car journey alone! Driving through the countryside seeing how they worked the land! looking at the hills lite up by all the womens sari's, bright reds, yellow, purples, oranges! i finally realise that the men in india do nothing, driving around all the men stand around, and believe me i thought i had mastered the art of doing nothing, but these guys take it to a whole new level! meanwhile the poor women are slaving away!
there was a purpose to this
delhi!
thought i share this loving picture of delhi at quite time! trip, to go and see a fort in kumbhalgarph and then a jain temple in rankiphur! both where well worth the trip!
so it was time to say far well to matt, and get my butt upto delhi to meet laura off her plane as she's come out here for a month!
16 hours on a bus from udiaphur to delhi. it struck me on the way into delhi in the early hours of the morning, that it's not just delhi thats a s##t whole! it's the whole surrounding area! the air is think with polluiton, you have hundreds of little settlements on the way into delhi! we stopped for a cup of chai (tea) at about 7am really needed to go to the toilet, so i asked someone where it was! there wasn't one, you just go where you gotta go, i leave the rest to your imagination!!!
so got to my favourite place in the world (delhi), and everyone was on strike, something to do with taxes! picked laura up from the airport and went back into the whole!
this was now my second day in delhi and just like before i'd had anough
kumbhalgarh fort
just a small part of the kumbhalgarph fort! of the place! needed to get out that place so tryed to get some transport out of there! to cut along story short i was'nt able to get to agra or varanasi the next day, so nepal it was!
we booked a bus to take us straight to kathmandu! turned upto the bus stop, on arrival there was our bus! a shed on wheels! just like the bus from leh to kargil! i was not looking forward to this! the journey in total took 37 hours non stop, i've been on some long journeys but never anything like this! there wasn't even anough room in the bus to stretch out your legs! once we got into nepal though i had an over welming sence of eurphoria! i've always wanted to go to nepal since i was a young teenager and here i was, being stalked by the himalayas as we drove along, cue 'james brown'. sat there like a small child just stareing out of the window, at anythink that went by!
made it to kathmandu at 4am,alive but with one really bruised butt check and no where to stay! managed to find a hotel that was over
sun set in udiaphur!!
ar, how romantic! never did get to meet octopussy though! shame priced but it was a god send!
thamel which is the area i'm staying in kathmandu reminds me a little bit of kho shan road in bangkok, people selling everything under the sun! it's a little bastardised and you have more gore tex clad adventurers than you do tie died hippies (you get what i mean), and this in turn has made the place alot more expensive than it should be! but that aside i'm loving nepal, it's captured my imagination and i can't wait to get out into the mountains which should be happening in the next few days! just trying to find the best price for trekking! until then i'm going to keep going with the language course that i've started, learning nepali, it's fairly straight forward and it good fun!
wont bore you anymore with my insesant ranting about absolutely nothing and my bad spelling! until next time namaste!!!
goat boy xx
ps laura's go to chitwan national park to wash elephants! sent her with a mission to push one left for me! last time i wanted to push an elephant left i wasn't allowed to due to the fact that i had
eight stiches in my toe and sarah had a broken toe! ting tong days times in thailand!
