Rebuilt Sultan's house, MelakaRebuilt Sultan's house, MelakaRebuilt Sultan's house, Melaka

Has got a museum inside which wasn't very exciting!
Once we saw everything in Singapore we headed north to Malaysia. Things got a little bit more difficult with language but the majority of people still speak English.

We crossed the Singapore/Malaysia border by coach and headed for our first stop of Melaka. After a couple of nights in a really cool guesthouse we headed north to Ipoh (which took ages!). Didn't find it particularly interesting so spent the next night in Kuala Kangsar and then moved on to Pangkor Island for about 5 nights. Had a really good time there, snorkelling, cycling and soaking up a few rays! We even got chased by an evil monkey which is actually scarier than it sounds! Finally, we headed down to Kuala Lumpur to catch the back end of Chinese New Year. We saw quite a few things including the Petronas Towers. Definitely the most impressive buildings I've ever seen. Will be interesting to see if the Taj Mahal tops it!

Once again it's probably best if I just stick on some photos!

The Portuguese were in Melaka for a while and their influence is apparent everywhere.

Ipoh has loads of Colonial buildings dotted around from when us good old Brits were in town!

Unfortunately you couldn't go inside the grounds (hence the pretty crappy photo!).

One day I was feeling energetic so I hired a bike and cycled round the whole island (about 20km). My backside didn't recover for about a week!
