We are so spoiled by Thai airways, where all foods are served on real china, real cutlery, etc. 2 hour flight from Bangkok to KL. Rented the small car and headed north. The map we have is useless. We discovered all roads are tolls. Quite a challenge to find out hotel as the big roads dumped us into the city at a place we couldn't find on the map. Finally stopped a second time to ask directions and an angel named Claudia offered to lead us there in her car. Crazy traffic. Great "service hotel" meaning we have 2burner stove, fridge, plates, etc. Not that we are going to cook! Joe and Anita are most gracious and insist on paying for just about everything. (They are due to retire soon and promise to visit Ohio and let us return the favor.) Fish head curry - check off list. Exhausted but stayed up till midnight.
