It was a long flight. This was the first time in my life I had no idea of how long the journey would take. I just didn' t want to know it. So I just hopped on the plane and hoped it wouldn' t take too long. Couldn' t be more wrong! It was the longest flight of my life... (yes, even longer than Rome-Brisbane!)Soooooo tremendously boring. I felt like I had nothing to do... first I watched some episodes of Family Guy on my laptop..then I played some games, then I ate, I stood up, went for a walk... and at the point I realized I was reading my french book for an exam I will have in February back in DK..I decided to sleep. (When I felt asleep I had my cup of tea in my hands... which obviously got spilled all over me!) But yeah..after only 8 hours..we arrived in Kuala Lumpur...
So...
first impressions of the city WARM AND HUMID!!...mmmm, well I' m very ignorant...I didnt know that a BIG majority of Malaysians are Muslims. So, the way from the airport to the city was full of BEAUTIFUL mosques! Loved it. There are palms just everywhere, I
dont think I saw any other different kind of tree actually..
The city: CROWDED! Full of skyscrapers and loads of traffic, people calling and screaming that they have the best offer and discount for a ride back and forth...Such a multicultural place! Chinese, Vietnamese s, Japaneses and of course MANY Aussies! 😊
Our hotel is in China Town. It is LITERALLY IN CHINA TOWN! I mean...we walked in it and around sooo many shops and stands (it reminded me of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul!) and the hotel was just right behind some stands. Cheap, affordable and hey..there is free wii-fi 😉
So, we left the luggage and went out right away for some dinner. I have no idea why, but we ended up eating in a very nice restaurant..but..mmm, it was a Spanish restaurant! We both felt like eating some good meat and some nice dessert, and of course a glass of Sangria. This city NEVER sleeps. There are shops open 24/7 like Seven Eleven and Carrefour! On our way back we found ourselves in China Town "by night"...waw, they must make a lot of business here with fake bags, wallets, scarfs, sunglasses. I didnt buy anything yet, but
I know I will be tempted.. It is amazing how cheap it is here...A bottle of water costs 50 euro cents, that should say it all.
I m off to bed now..I m very tired with all this time difference (now I m only 6 hours ahead of you, and not 8 anymore, I'm catching up hey! 😉 ).
Tmw we will explore the city and try to plan our trip around East Asia..lets see😊
Of course I will keep u updated and put some pics soon so that you will have an idea of how BIG the difference is between Australia and Malaysia!😊
Hugs to you all, and Kopivosian donsodop (good night in Kadazan (Malaysian Dialect)
