Having left rainy Thailand behind we travelled to Kuala Lumpur by air. Laura was still not feeling her best but braved the flight over. From the airport we took the bus to busy China town - sadly still in the rain. We did not have accomodation booked but knew this area to house most of the budget hotels / hostels. The street we ended up staying on converted into a bustling market at night, complete with a sound system that raged until about midnight.

Hungry I ventured out into the streets of China town in search of some authentic cuisine. We knew Malaysia to be more of a melting pot than further north in SE asia, the more Muslim and Chinese influence was also apparent in the food. China town was typical of all the China towns across the globe - street stalls selling Peking Ducks and Char Sui with small plastic tables and chairs.... so when in Rome - eat as the Romans do and order as much duck as you can manage for the bargain prices on offer! I have to say i really enjoyed the few days we stayed in China town. Access to the rest of the city via the Monorail and underground systems were excellent.

On our second day I ventured to KLCC the site of the forma worlds tallest bulding 'The Petronas Towers' to find out about tickets to visit the skybridge for the following day when hopefully laura would be feeling better. By this time she had visit three doctors in two countries and we were hopeful after a couple of injections in the bum she would be back on her feet! Just to clarify in her absence I wasn't just having a jolly, I was taking care of her Liz! Having arrived at the towers I went inside to discover that the skybirdge closed on mondays - our last day in Kulala Lumpur. However, the KL tower, formerly the worlds tallest tower was open and from there we could view the city and the Petronas towers. So the next day we headed up there, the view was good and the view across the city impressive. However, the $35 each ticket was in hindsight, expensive. The ticket also got us into a animal sanctury that boasted a two headed turtle, but for all our searching he did a no-show.... bull me thinks.

Laura now back to full health meant we could look forward to once again hitting the streets together in Singapore our next destination.
