The last few days of our holiday with the mob were in Kl to try to beat jet lag.Did'nt work though as even the youngsters in the mob suffered for a couple of days after arriving back in Oz. We stayed at a beaut place called Somerset Ampang, very nice. Good people at reception & large rooms with excellent water pressure & plenty of hot water. we had a studio room which had a washimg machine & dryer & full kitchen though the next door restaurant was very good & reasonably priced. The hotel is 2 minutes from the rail in a quiet leafy suburb next door to The British High Commision.Breakfast was include in the price & was very nice with a reasonable variety. Shopping is good in KL & the hop on hop off bus is very good value as if you stay on the full tour the first time you can pick areas you want to concentrate on though the bus does stop at the main attractions long enough for photos or you can get off wander round & hop on the next bus.It was a nice break exceptthat Tony had his wallet stolen by a pickpocket on the

monorail at Bukit Bintang. As it was a public holiday celebrating the end of Ramadam the city was packed & gangs from out of town were targetting tourists. The carriage we were in on the monorail was packed & one door would'nt open so it was a terrific crush to get off & as soon as we cleared the crush Tony realised his wallet which was in the front pocket of his shorts secured with a velcro tab, was gone.We filled in a form at the station & when we went back to the hotel the staff insisted we get a cab to the tourist police which was not far away. They were very helpful & told us because of the public holiday they had been very busy with many thefts. They gave us 3 copies of the report for the insurance & showed us where we could cancel our credit cards which was a relief. It put a dampener on our holiday but these things happen everywhere in the world so we would still go back to KL.We've already booked our Thailand trip for next may so untill then we're wandering around Oz in our 5th wheeler.
