We bought our tickets at the ferry terminal saving us a few ringgit rather than buying it from our guest house 😊 We had a tasty breakfast of yummy pastries from Bread Story and boarded our boat for George Town Penang.

The journey passed quickly as a James Bond movie played on the screen and the views out to see were pretty. We arrived in George town in the early afternoon and set about finding a place to lay our heads. A lot of the places were booked up so do book Malaysia in advance! We found a place but it wasn't great! We took the free CAT bus around the town and out to the mall for a spot of shopping 😊 There were three big malls all next to each other so I had a whale of a time! I also got my roots done in a hairdressers which was a bit scary but turned out alright in the end! Phew! We struggled to find the famous street food we had read about (all we could find was cold buffet food on the streets!) We ended up eating in Subway! We looked at the street art which was really great to see, the guy was very talented 😊 We also took a stroll to the blue mansion which is pretty small for a mansion but has a cute colonial style 😊

The next day, we took a bus to the cameron highlands which left from near the malls, you can buy a ticket there and take a mini bus to the big bus station which is further out. This saves you taking a very lengthy journey by public bus 😊 We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the public Malaysian buses, the seats were recliners and huge and so soft 😊
