Captian Light (and a muppet)
He was that bloke what founded Penang Salamat Datang! (good day). I'm in Penang at the monent which is nice but very touristy. We're staying in The Blue Dimond hotel which i stayed in four years ago. It's a cool place with a mexican food place and live music in the evenings. I'd recomend it but only if you can put up with grubby bathrooms. We've done all the touristy sights. (photos will follow, no usb on the comp). Yesterday we went to the biggest Budhist temple in Malaysia, Kek Lok Si. It is an amazing place and pretty big. they are in the process of finnishing a Buddha staue that is huge and on top of a hill. Although no where near as big it's position gives on the hill is remenicent of the Jesus in Rio. We also went all the way up a Pagoda but didn't spend too long at the top as it made me dizzy and i was convinced the walls were all sloping outwards.
Today we went to two more temples, one with the 'thrid biggest' reclining Buddha in the world. Lots of places seem to have the 'tird biggest' reclining Buddha although Bangkok claims the second biggest. I'm sure I've

Now that' swhat I call incense been to at least 3 churches claiming to be the first in Malaysia. Off to the Perhentians tonight. The bus leaves at 8:45pm and arrives at the jetty at 6am for a ferry at 7am.....fun journy.
So, i will probably not be able to blog until KL just before we go to Thailand. Bye Bye

Glad all is well, were there any rituals going on in the big temple when you went? good luck with your early journey, talking about nighmares I'll give you two words... uni registration. set myself low target of just being recognised by any given computer by the end of the week. start small. love andrea
