So we are a bit behind in the blog so we are doing the week we spent in Vientiane in one quick entry.

Basically there was not much to do and it was so hot that we would have to seek shade and AC between noon and 2.30pm.

During the week we went to see the museum which was not very good, the "shopping centre" which we would call the Fairyhouse market! The Patuxai which is a concrete monument in the middle of the city. They used concrete which was donated by the US to build and airport to build this monument, it is not very pretty but you can walk up it there are 179 steps up and there is a great view of the city. Most days we walked to the Mekong river there was a really nice breeze and they have the river front like a nice promenade so it was nice to spend time there and across the river was Laos 😊

There was also an Swensenss Ice Cream Parlour that did the best ice cream. Khop Chai Diu became a regular haunt, they did cravats of wine for a few quid and it was really nice wine plus the food there was amazing! Also went to this Italian place I got a pizza which was soooo nice and G had pasta which was even better. For breakfast we went to True Coffee a few times they serve a really thick slice of bread perfectly toasted with peanut butter and nutella on it, it was the nicest thing I have ever had I would have had 10 if it weren't for the calories 😞

We may at some point elaborate on our week in Vientiane but it was really a chill week to relax before Vietnam as we knew there was alot more to see and do and we would be busy busy busy doing tours etc....
