Well since i last wrote we have left vietnam and are now in Laos. After Sapa we managed to get a train back a day before our flight so no worrying about missing it but it did mean we had to spend another day in Hanoi which was rubbish. We had another argument with a taxi driver who drove us around the whole town for a 5 minute journey. Its so frustrating and lets just say we are glad we are finally out of there!! We flew to Vientiane the capital of Laos and as soon as we stepped off the plane we noticed the friendlier atmosphere. Even the guy at immigration smiled and said hello!! We spent 2 days in vientiane where we had our first roast dinner since we have been here, which was not a let down. We were so happy someone told us about this because it truly was amazing.

We also went to see Vientianes version of the arc de triumphe. Kind of in a Laos stylee. Vietnianes strange its supposed to be the capital but is so quiet. We arrived on a sunday and it was like ghost town. Although in the evening was rock sunday by the river where they had some asian nu metal bands playing which was worth a laugh. So we sat and had some beers whilst watching this and the sun going down.

We are now in vang vieng which is a little town on the river not far from vientiane. Its really chilled out lots of bars with cushions to lay on and friends playing 24 hrs a day. Its nice to relax for a bit. plus we have a nice room for only 75p each a night! We are off tubing in a minute. Its where you go down the river in a rubber ring thing and get pulled into lots of bars on the way. So should be fun, as its been raining non stop since we got here we have to go whilst there is a break in the clouds....
