Just spent our first full day in Luang Prabang and as the title of the blog suggests it is lovely. It is a very chilled out kind of place with loads of great restaurants and cafés. It also has a great night market where I have bought far too much stuff. It is NEVER all going to fit in my rucksac!

Today we visited some temples including Wat Xieng Thong which is one of the best temples we have visited so far. It was just beautiful with loads of amazing mosaics. Needless to say I was very snap happy.

We spent the rest of the day wandering, chilling out and visited a couple more smaller wats. In the evening we ate at L'elephant which was a really great French restaurant. It was very expensive by Lao standards but not by ours. I think the whole thing came to $35. It is the kind of restaurant we could never afford to eat in at home.

We have signed up to go trekking tomorrow. Lets hope it is not too hot. The cold spell has passed by the way and it is now over 30 degrees. We got sunburnt!
