We were both looking forward to Lao after so many great reports from friends and fellow travellers. We were not disappointed by any means..... On the surface, it looks like a quieter, equally as friendly and polite, cheaper version of Thailand. We met Lan and Say on top of Phu Si hill chilling on their day off from study and practising their English with foreigners....

We loved these lime/sugarcane juice drinks!

Antie was 80 and used 2 pairs of glasses to sew the finest of stitch...

Apparently built with cement donated by USA for a road... much better use I'd say... Up close its uglyness is very apparent though...

There was so much devestation during the wars with Siam in 17 & 1800's that lots of buddhas have been unearthed dismembered... Does this make them Budd's or Ha's I wonder?
