Luang Nam Tha

Luang Nam Tha is a nice little town surrounded by little villages. We could not find a good trek that met all our needs so we decided not to do one. Instead we rented
some bikes and decided to explore on our own. We first went out to a nearby waterfall and hiked in. I think that my view of nature is a little bit spoiled with the summer job that we. Have. The waterfall was mediocre with obvious human influence all around it. After the waterfall we road around to outskirts of the town. We stopped
for lunch and waited for over an hour to get some fries. Things are very slow in Laos as we were warned both by our guidebooks and other travellers. This continues
to be the case at all meals. I stopped at a local market and grabbed a large pomelo. This was the green grapefruit like fruit that I described earlier and mistakes as jackfruit. It is massive and I had to carry the rest of the day in my pack but it will be worth it at night when I eat it.

We continues through many little villages with children constantly yelling "Sabasdee ( hello)" as we rode by. It was neat to see how they lives as we hadn't seen it as realistically in northern Thailand. There were a bunch of little schools
we passed so I decided to ride in and check one out. It was like a big cement box eithone teachers table a a bookshelf with around 7 or 8 books. It is aa national holiday so no school but that just meant we saw all the kids on the roads. Matt and Eline went up to see another temple but I was templed out so me and James waited at the bottom.

We got back into town and grabbed some local treats. At the little shop there was a young monkey wrestling with a baby dog. They were so evenly matched it was really funny.

We decided to stay the night and move on tomorrow heading south.
