After Huis Ten Bosch, we took a trip across the island of Kyushu to Beppu to a place called Umi Jigoku, ie, Sea Hell. It is because the 'jigoku' looks like the sea which emerged after an explosion of a volcano some 1,200 years ago and because of the colour of the boiling water which is cobalt-blue.

To me, this place was like wow. As we walked around, all these ponds and lakes were around but steam were coming out of them. I'm guessing underground is so hot that is making the water boil. Also around were some beautiful cherry blossoms.

Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the hotel we stayed at but it was very traditional Japanese. The hotel itself is in the sticks somewhere up a mountain, probably Mt Yufu. The room we were in had a very low table so the only way you could have tea or eat would be sitting on the floor. The bedroom was separated and we were supplied with our very own kimono. The hotel itself had a very nice hotel on its ground and no doubt popular with weddings.
