Hi Everyone, I am sorry I haven’t written an update in a while. Last Wednesday, Marc and I went up to the Executive Lounge here in the hotel so we could have a glass of Champaign to celebrate our finding a new apartment. The bar stools up there are really high and some how I twisted my back the wrong way. Consequently, I have spent the last few days either laying as still in bed as possible or …… well never mind, I’ll spare you the details! Unfortunately I have only a few minutes to stay a LOT of things about Japan. I am on a computer that I can only use for ten more minutes and I cant put up pics...plus the keyboard is in japanese and I cant find all the stuff I need on here to type. Funny. Things are so good though. I have been having a fantastic time! Dallas and I took off last Thursday for a two day hiking trip that turned in to a bit of a fiasco and I wanted to just cry and cry. Since we hadn't received a response to our previous application, we went out apartment hunting again on Wednesday. The realtor signed us up to see nine apartments; some revisits and some new. We ended up seeing only two. The second apartment was fantastic; it had just come on the market that day. We immediately put in a new application. This blog won't let me copy over the floorplan but our guests at Levin's Inn will be very pleased. We have two bedrooms, two and a half baths (inlcuding full bath ensuite the guest room) and over 1800 square feet all in Central Tokyo. Why don't they heat the whole house. It is pretty cold here. There were actually some snow flurries really early in the morning in Tokyo today. The rooms here all have seperate heaters and they only turn on the one in the room they are using. So basically if you want to walk from one room to the other, you freeze. If you think to yourself you might like to get up in the middle of the night to take a piss, think again. You better put a sweater on before you go because it will be cold. I believe that there is a good chance it will be snowing in Nagano tomorrow. In a place a bit farther north they are having a blizzard right now. Shamefully we've let the blog slip again but now that we're not having to take out a mortgage to scratch an hour on the internet we thought we'd try and remember our week in Japan to tell you all about it. Well, actually that shouldn't be too hard as we spent a very memorable week in the hospitally of Tokyo, Katie's brother Darren, his friend Deirdre (another irish student in Tokyo who can be very convincing when it comes to an all night drinking sesh!) and all the surrounding salarymen so bear with me if this goes on. You will probably hear subtly different accounts of Tokyo but all should have the main theme of culture running throughout.
