Día 1
Esta noche he pegado ojo a ratos. Entre el cansancio y el jet lag y el calor, me he despertado varias veces para poner y quitar también el A/A.
A las 6.30 me he levantado y me he arreglado tranquilamente al tiempo que miraba el correo y demás.
El desayuno está incluido en el hotel. Lo sirven en una cafetería contigua al propio hotel y los huéspedes tenemos 4 opciones donde elegir: 3 en plan huevos y tostada o tortitas y la cuarta opción, la castiza del lugar. Tu arroz y tus algas. A lo mejor dentro de unos días me animo, pero hoy de momento ha tocado tostada con huevos revueltos.
Luego he decidido explorar el barrio, pero hace tanto calor que me he dado tres paseos ¡y me vuelto al hotel! El caso es que el ambiente está chulo, muchos puestos, todo muy colorista e intrigante y montones de máquinas expendedoras de coca cola y bebidas varias por todos lados. Y mucho movimiento de gente.
A las 10 ha venido Robin a buscarnos y nos hemos venido hasta la oficina en tren, son como 5-10 min andando desde el hotel, otros tantos
en el tren, más otros 15 min a pie desde la estación a la oficina. No está mal.
La oficina está en el piso 11. Habrá cosa de 100 cubículos y esto está de lo más tranquilo. A las 11 no ha llegado todavía ni la mitad de la gente... así me gusta, con calma.
De momento no hemos hecho gran cosa. Hemos instalado nuestros respectivos teclados, hemos metido el Office que no estaba en los ordenadores y hemos comprobado que funciona el correo de aquí. Y poco más. A las 3 tenemos reunión y ya nos contarán cómo va el trabajo.
Así que de momento, corto y cambio 😉

DAY 1
So far I am writing almost identical posts in both languages... this might change depending on the time I have and my mood 😉
The first night was ok, I kept waking up because of the jet lag and the heat, I turned the AC on and off all night. So finally at 6.30 I decided to get up, chat online, check the mail and get ready.
breakfast starts at 6am in the cafeteria next door to the hotel and
it's free for guests. We have 4 choices: 3 of them are eggs and toast or pancakes... the fourth option is of course rice and seaweed! Maybe another day... scrambled eggs will do for today.
After breakfast I decided to explore the neighbourhood. But it was so hot I just went two blocks up, one down, back to the hotel.
At 10 we met Robin at the hotel and went together to the office. In total takes around 35 min, door to door.
The office is on the 11th floor, and it's really quiet. Most people arrive at 11 in the morning and work until 8. Very different schedule.
Today it's being pretty relaxed, we just got the computers set up and got a meeting with the bosses. Nothing major.

Restaurante Shibuya
Básicamente en este restaurante te dan la comida en un bowl y cocinas tú mismo!
A sort of "mongolian grill" but à la Japanese. You get a bowl with the raw food and cook it yourself. Really fun!le haré foto de día), y un cruce de calles tremendo donde la gente cruza en todas direcciones posibles cuando el semáforo se pone verde. Un espectáculo. Esto en viernes debe ser tremendo.
After work Robin showed us how to get to Shibuya, downtown Tokyo, the Japanese version of "Times Square" and one of the spots that always appears on movies.
There is a famous statue of a dog (I'll take a picture of it during daytime) and that big intersection where people cross in every direction when the lights go green. It was quite busy tonight, despite being Monday.
I can't wait to see this on Friday!
