Arrived in Tokyo yesterday, and it's cold! The people are really friendly and welcoming.
Staying in a really cute hostal in a residential neighbourhood. No exaggerations, the room is tiny. Think of a cabin on a boat, then go smaller!
Went out to Shibuya last night, the place with the amzing zebra crossings (and throngs of people) you always see on adverts/tv. Had set my watch wrong so ended up eating dinner at 2230, and had a local 'mixed platter' of meats, which included: skin, heart, liver and neck. Some new tastes for the palate!
This morning, got up really early (0530) and headed down to the famous Tsukiji fish market. Saw the huge tunas being sold and walked round the bustling stalls, dodging the crazy market traffic (they have accident disclaimer signs for the foreign visitors coz it is quite lethal). Then had a fresh sushi breakfast. The raw fish just melted in your mouth. Amazing.
