Well i was a bit hung as we got into Narita International. Got though customs no probelms at all. It was kind of cool. They took pics of my fingerprints and my face as well. Not too many questions at all. Got into the bag pickup and mine was one of the last. I was kinda worried that it might of continued on to Bangkok without me. I was ready to report it when i finally saw it shoot out on the conveyor. AHH
After that i lined up in the line in the pic. Nothing major its was easy they asked me a few questions and i was off.
First i looked outside. It almost looked like Canada but a bit warmer maybe 20 degrees out. After that i got out 20,000 YEN which was like 250 bucks and headed for the subway. Found the Kesei line no problems which was gonna be the cheapest way into Tokyo and it left like seconds after i stepped on it. Then i started to get tired. I was sitting beside a girl with a Canadian flag who was from a place i hadnt heard of an hour and a bit out of
Toronto. I chatted with her. It was the first place she had been to out of Canada. Crazy she said she missed the snow already haha. Not me.
I asked the Japanese girl sitting beside me about switching to take the metro and she was all over it on her phone. So advanced they can do anything with those phones. HAHA she told me where to get off at and it was just that easy. I got off at UENO and headed for Asakusa just 3 stops away. Took the exit and i was literally staying just across the street. FIrst impressions of Tokyo were very good. SO clean and spacious. It was Saturday night and it was quiet to me for such a large city.
Checked into my room and put my stuff in the Capsule. I was staying in a men only room and there was like 12 Capsules in there. There was a deck and this is the view from it. Not bad for about 21 dollars. I showered. Got myself all clean and then headed out for a meal. It was around 8pm and i was just knackered. I wanted to explore this crazy place but
i didnt have much steam left in me.
Went outside and got myself a coffee drink out of a vending machine. IT was HOT too. CRAZYNESS no idea how that works. Then i walked down the road to explore my options for food. Gotta have some sushi. After 3 meals on the plane i was still hungry and i hardly even moved since i left Victoria at 4am.
Saw what i realized later was a very famous temple with a huge lantern out front and explored down the alleys of the market inside.
After that i got up the nerve to go inside this sushi bar and ordered a ton of different sushi. It was a stand up bar and luckily there wasnt a line when i arrived because shortly after ppl started lining up. I had all sorts of tuna and mackrel very good. AHh they put the wasabi inside it. They made it right in front of you which was cool.
After that i had some Ramen soup. Really good. And then it was time for bed. Got inside my capsule and literally passed out.
