after the sitting with arms like a bird, belly thumping, ground pounding, and salt throwing, they do a stare down...Asashoryuu is the master of this...

even after his opponent is already finished staring, Asashoryu continues to stare intently forward as if he was looking right through his opponent the whole time. It's really intense. I bet he's really good at staring contest...and if he lost, he could just sit on you and squash you anyways...

Sooooooo, after a bunch of times repeating all those rituatials, they actually have the match. The sumo's lunge at each other and either try to push the other out of the ring or knock him over. It lasts a matter of seconds usually.

after all is said and done, a closing ritual is performed by a sumo with a long thin stick and he does a little dance thing.
