Hey everyone! So here's whats been going on. Friday night I went to a birthday party Natalia's apartment and had a great time mostly people watching, talking, and dancing. I met some new people including David, Collin, Lu (?), and Kristine along with some others whose names i dont' remember at all. jonna was there and she went to the a conveenii to get something to eat along with another girl and they were both verbally harrassed and scared by a perverted old man. not fun but they lived to tell the tale. anyway the night was a good time but not a lot to tell.
the next day I went to Osaka with my friend Jenn. We met at Makino station and took the express there. We started our day by going to Osaka Castle which was beautiful. We first went walking on the grounds outside the castle where there was a little garden type area with lots of pretty flowering trees and tons of people. it was packed so after a few pictures we moved on out to the main part of hte castle. walking in we ran into jimmy who is a great guy from sweden. anyway,
once inside the castle we went to the top where the view was beautiful. we looked around up there for a while and then started our way down. because the castle is a museum now there were galleries and exhibits on every floor which were all very interesting. there was especially a lot on the summer war of 1615 including some great artwork. also fun were the various samauri toys like armor and weapons. Anyway, outside the castle there was a comedy type juggling routine which was real good. we watched that for a while and then wnadered into Osaka business park and found ourselves lnch at a very nice little restaurant. It wasn't too big, had a great good atmosphere and delicious filling food. I hope I make it there again. After lunch we wandered some more, found a park, a playground, fountain, and then decided to check out the
Umeda Sky Building where there is a beautiful rooftop view and a cafe on the 40th floor. Needless to say we stayed there for the rest of the night eventually being joined by a couple mutual friends. We just sat up at the cafe, had a few casual drinks (well for
me and jenn a few casual drinks, one drink each had marina and nella feeling pretty good). anyway, we enjoyed that for quite a while. just chatting whatever. enjoying the view. eventually we split up and went back jenn and I went back to Hirakata. I walked her back to Sem1 but ended up staying for a while b/c we were still talking. All said and done I finally got home around midnight which for leaving at 9:30 was quite a long day after a mostly sleepless night. All in all though it was a good day. Jenn (who is from western canada) has turned out to be a real nice girl and a great person to go exploring with because she is good for conversation, puts up with my random desire to go places and she walks quickly. Anyway that was Saturday. sunday morning I was going to go to Mass with Jenn but I was too tired so I just slept until 1:30 and then relaxed all day. I cleaned some and listened to lots of music. My motivation for school is waning so I didn't do a lot of homework until late at night. I think my
problem is that im all or nothing and there's not enough of a challenge here for me to give my all. which is good of course cause it lets me explore more and actually have free time, a luxury im not quite used to. and finally, if you've been keeping up with my pictures you might have noticed im starting to grow some semblances of a beard. this is my first time trying to grow one so if anyone is particularly experienced or has thoughts and comments feel free to share. im ok being told it looks horrible ; ).
hope everyone is well, and i hope you enjoy the
pictures. my camera unfortunately got low on batteries toward the end of saturday night so i dont have as many pictures of osaka at night but oh well. sayoonara.
