street #1street #1street #1

after exiting campus at the east gate and crossing the road, this is the first road i go down to get to the seminar house.
WOW, things have been completely crazy this past week!! but now i finally have a chance to write a little bit about what i've been getting into. well i've done so much this week i really don't know where to start! but i guess i'll start by saying that i'm having the time of my life! never did i think i would be here doing the things that i'm doing and experiencing the things that i've experienced so far. it's so surreal! like right now, i'm writing from a mcdonald's in hirakata. some of us rode our bikes over here (yes, i got a bike!) cause it had internet service and the internet has been down at all the seminar houses all weekend.

well i don't have time right now to talk about the crazy night of shopping in osaka or our day in kyoto, but don't worry, i'll be sure to write about those and put up my pictures soon! but for now i want to show you all where i'm living and what it's like here. so i put up pictures of the route i take leaving campus every day to get to my seminar house. it takes

this is the next street i come to...notice how narrow it is!
20 mins walking but only like 5 by bike. so i guess it's kind of a virtual tour of "my new home." cause i can honestly say that now this place is starting to feel like home 😊 i also put up some pictures of my seminar house...but none of my actual room yet! i just unpacked today cause it was permanent check-in at the seminar houses. so i haven't had time to organize it and make it all pretty. but those pictures will be coming very soon!

but getting back to the pictures i put up now...

i love going to school every day simply because of the things i see on the way. there are some really nice houses with beautiful architecture and i'm amazed by how pretty they are. but the streets are VERY small. in fact, i've almost been run over multiple times by either a car, scooter, or bike...and those things go fast! but hey it's fun anyway! there's also a pretty park on the way (although it's connected to a building and i don't know if it's a house or something else). well eventually i reach the seminar house still alive and
parkparkpark

here's a cute little park i pass, although i've never seen anyone playing in it. hmmm..
go through the gate, around the corner, and to through the entrance. as soon as i go in i have to take off my shoes and put them in my box. then i can go up the elevator to the 4th floor, where my room is!! our unit, which i share with 5 other girls, has a walk-in area with a shoe closet, a living room, a kitchen, and a full bathroom. it's all very nice!

well i hope you enjoyed my little tour of my home. i promise to have pictures up of my actual room very soon! and i have so much to write about too...my new friends, my adventures in osaka and kyoto, getting my bike, and all the other craziness that i've experienced in japan so far. i can't believe i haven't even been here a full week yet. it seems like i've done so much already!

well we're still at mcdonald's...interesting crowd here to say the least lol. but it's cool, and did i mention it's 2 stories? ok well it looks like we are getting ready to ride back to the seminar house so until next time...saayonara!
