stupid ridiculous bunny slope
i think my face was permanently imprinted on the damn slope from wiping out too much
"Holidays on Ice" started on December 26 I was set to leave for Nagano on the evening of the 26th at 10 pm. I left earlier coz i wasnt familiar with the area of the bus station and i wanted to have enough time for getting lost etc. Well, good thing because I did get lost haha! But after seeing all these young people with snowboards, I followed them and they took me right to the bus station. The trip felt surprisingly short because i was sleeping most of the way, I was traveling by myself so the seat beside me was empty, thus i was more comfortable than the rest. When I got to the ski resort in Nagano, it was snowing and i was so happy! Primarily because it was the first time Ive seen snow and also because the people at the travel agency told us that it was still too early into the winter season for much snow and so we really cant expect on how much snow were really going to have. So seeing that snow made me really happy. After about 2 hours, Viviane and her friends arrived from Tokyo and we fixed up some
the ski resort
the mountains looked so unreal that they looked like a wallpaper in the background loose ends with the lodge, got on our skis and headed to the mountain.
It was a very ridiculous bunny slope. Why? Because theres nothing bunny about it at all! The top was flat enough, but then it goes down to this steep drop that will take you to the bottom of the slope. In my 3 days there I wasnt able to go down that slope without rolling on my stomach. Viviane and I are awful skiiers so we spent like an hour to go down the slope that would normally take an average skiier about 5 minutes to tackle. This is because instead of skiing on the snow, we swim in it! We fall on our butt, then lie down in frustration then spend about 10 minutes trying to stand up and then stay at the side of the slope trying to figure out how were gonna get down the steep part with the least amount of damage. It was so funny and idiotic at the same time. Aside from this, we have grown really fat since the time we came here and we are so lazy we have to rest everytime we go down the slope
what the-?!
apparently, this is the way to stand on a snow board... hmm.... and eat snacks at the convenie. Hahaha!!!!! It was pretty frustrating because we see all these little children, not more than 7 years old, going down the slope like its no problem. Viviane was really pissed at this one kid, in pink ski clothes. It was when she fell on her bum and couldnt tell her left leg from her right when the kid skiied past her and looked her up and down in the most insolent way like the kid was questioning the range of Viviane's IQ. It pissed her so much and complained about the kid to me the entire time. She was like "Just because you have your daddy with you to teach you and just because you're wearing pink and just because you've lived in a cold country your whole life (which was probably 6 years) you think you're better than me!" I just laughed so much at her.
Funny thing about that ski slope is that theres a part of it thats actually a vegetable patch and i mean you can see the cabbages and the radishes peeping out from the snow and i actually skiied on in there, i

It's a cliche, I know, but I've always wanted to do it! figured the land is flatter and i cant pick up much speed when i m skiing there so now i can proudly say ive skiied on radishes! Wahahahaha
At night, we have nothing better to do so we just go to the onsens (hot springs) around the area. The place we went to is Kitaguchi Yomase Onsen, this is the ski resort way up in the boondocks that to get to Nagano City will be like a 2 hour drive. The onsens we went to were really pretty. They're outdoor onsens and its very interesting sitting in a hotspring while snow falls down on you, its very relaxing and its definitely worth the experience.
The second day, we all woke up really late and since the slope closes at 5. Its dark by 430 and theres no night skiing. Viviane and I tried to do snowboarding. Its the most difficult thing in the world, you have to stay on your toes the entire time and it really hurts the ankles. I couldnt even stand up in that thing so i finally gave up. The next day Viviane stayed on board and I stayed on skis. I think i

I just love this picture, its a total winter wonderland got better on it. We left the lodge at around 8 and stayed near the bus stop to wait for the bus that will take us to Tokyo. At that time a snow storm acted up and we were so scared because the wind was howling and the snow was turning around in circles and it was really a blizzard. We thought the bus wouldnt be able to make it up the mountain, luckily it did and we were able to get to Tokyo safely.
