thermal waters
So do they have thermal waters that are also for use by tourists? Was interesting to see the thremal waters in an area that was SOOOO cold.

Thermal waters
Yes, there are many thermal pools for people in South Korea and Japan. They were delightful. Winter is cold in Japan.

Worth the cold
Indeed at this point in our life we weigh what we will see against how cold it is going to be and these snow monkeys were worth it. We really enjoyed them. Thanks for reading and commenting.

How good must it have been to see so many of them and to see them bathe in the warm waters of the pools. And well done wearing warm clothes so you could enjoy the park in spite of (or maybe because of!) the cold.

Not a big fan of monkeys but these are adorable. I think I can enjoy just viewing and not interacting. That seems to be when it all goes wrong for me. How cool. Well worth going north, snow or no snow. I can real respect their love for the onsen too. Ah to lounge all day in one! Maybe I’ll be a snow monkey in my next life.

Snow Monkey
Andrea, being a snow monkey in the next life is a worthy goal. I Amy have to consider that also. Monkeys can be vicious and agree that I normally keep a distance. These guys are so adorable and don't seem to be bothered by people hanging out and looking at them.

Totally understand why you wanted to go see the snow monkeys
I have seen many pictures of the snow monkeys and I have also felt that I would like to see them. So I totally understand why you went there now that you had the chance. Good for you that they were still there although it was late in the season.

Japan in Snow!
I am so glad you got to see them and with snow! I would like to see Japan in winter. They are so photogenic! Some of the ski passes for resorts in the states if you buy the multi resort passes will include Japan.

Yes indeed, these monkeys are living the dream! Good for them! So glad you got to see them, I remember this being on your bucket list! Wonderful that you got some snow to add to the atmosphere, and well done for taking the slippery walk slowly! Fair enough, you've tried sake, and know it's not for you. Always good to try I say!
