Oh God, Oh Shit, Oh God, Oh Shit and many Oh Fu*#s...................these were the words coming out of my mouth.
Mario, Marissa, Steve, Marteen, Patti, Peter and I headed to Fuji Q Highland for a fun filled down of being scared shitless.
Fuji Q, what a day, what an experience and yes I lived to tell it, despite feeling like I might die several times during the day!!!
I remember being much braver on rides, being scared and flying through the air upside down was something I used to like I am sure. Maybe it is getting older and loosing that, No Fear thing, I don't know. What I do know is that I was scared to death on one of the Roller Coasters and it was not the one that was ment to be the most frightening.
The first Roller Coaster, "Eejanaika", we went on where the seats can rotate forward or backward 360 degrees in a controlled spin. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Eejanaika is the roller coaster with the most inversions in the world. Throughout the ride, the riders go through 14 inversions. It is not like a tradtional roller
coaster, you are in seperate seats that spin, twist and make you feel like you are flying and turning in every direction. The ride only last for maybe a minute and a half but it is an exhilarating time frame. I loved this ride, I was so scared but in a good way. It was the first Roller Coaster I have every been on and I am glad we did this one first.
We then headed to the big drop, the feeling of falling I didn't enjoy. I hated just waiting at the top not knowing when they would drop us, it was horrible and when they finally did I think my heart nearly stop. Falling that quickly is not something I was going to do for a second time. There would be no big drop take 2 for me!!!
I was all pumped for Roller Coaster No. 2, "World Bucchigiri Coaster, Dodonpa", when it starts it goes from 0-173km in 3 seconds. Crazy fast..... We had to wait along time in the line for this ride and the longer I waited and listened to the take off an dwatched it on the screens the less I wanted
to go on it. By the time we got to the front of the line my heart was racing so quick I was beside myself in fear. Well I braved it and got on and I have never felt so scared in my life......... The take of brought tears to my eyes and pinned me to my seat from the G-force and then I started to calm down a little that didn't last long as the ride headed up at 90 degrees and then came rocketing down at the same angle I really thought I was falling out, I was teriified and completely put off, of going on the 3rd Roller Coaster, I HATED this ride and was so glad to get off.
Me and thankfully some of the others nerves needed a rest so we took it easy on some nice rides. The Merry-go-round(a personal favourite, I would love one in my house), the Ferris Wheel, the Haunted Masnsion, the tea cups, the wave swinger, which turned out to go higher than we thought but at least my heart was now beating normally.
We tried out some other rides that I really loved, the Great Zaboon a water ride
where you all put on full length rain coats and you rocket down into the water and get showered with water, it was great I loved it!! The other water ride was the Rocky Slider where you go in a small boat and it was very tame. We got our days exercise on the pedal bike ride and had fun on the kids Roller Coaster, the great fluffy sky adventure.
Everyone was feeling very tried and I was enjoying avoiding the 3rd Roller Coaster....... The boys took a nap on the lawn and Marissa and I want for a stroll through ThomasLand.
I must say Marissa is braver than I she went one everything and loved it. I chickened out on the Pizza ride which was too scary for me. Finally we headed to the dreaded 3rd Roller Coaster, " King of Coaters Fujiyama", it used to hold the world record for the tallest Roller coaster at 79m..... I couldn't get my head around how high it was and as I started to walk up to the line I started to panic my legs wouldn't move and I yelled to Marissa I can't do it.......
CHICKEN, thats me.
It was to high and it scared the hell out of me just looking at it.
I had a brilliant day and I am looking forward to going back. I want to go on the Eeanaika again and I want to go Ice skating there in Winter. Will go back on the Dodonpa, NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are in Japan and haven't been its a MUST DO!!!!
