It was suggested to me that I might like visiting Miyajima island, so after fully exploring the A-Bomb Dome and Peace Park in Hiroshima, decided to take the ferry over and see the island. I was not disappointed. Loved the shrines there, the inquisitive yet apathetic deer, the calorie burning rather steep hike up to Mt. Misen, then of course the views from Mt. Misen. Not sure if I missed these signs near the ferry landing area, if there were any. By the time I had seen this, I had already scratched the heads of a couple of deer. Was kind of odd when you scratched their head as they didn't appear to care or notice that either.





The hike begins...

The ropeway was simply a tram/gondola that could be ridden up/down

I believe the hike starts at about 2.5 km to the top of Mt. Misen. Its a steep ascent though
