About us: Glynn's 34, a Batman fanatic and graphic novel afficionado, a Warehouse Supervisor when he has to be and a general all-round nice guy. Jude is 33, a hardened gig and festival goer, a Lecturer dabbling in IT, Literacy and German and a general all-round nice girl.

The Deer StalkerGlynn tries to lure a passing deer into taking the bike back to the rental depot for him in exchange for some sweeties. Doesn't he realise that deer are also told never to accept sweets from strangers ?
We made itThis is the ropeway - also known as a cable car! It gave us the most excellent views over the treetops.
View from the topGlynn enjoys the stunning views but wonders 'can we go higher?'
Stone me!There were some seriously big boulders hanging around on the way up. That's Glynn over on the left so you can get an idea of scale.
Mount MisenGlynn was right - we could go higher. This is the view from Mount Misen, the highest peak on Miyajima. The building on the left is where the cable car dropped us off.
Making friends on the MountJude and Jish make friends with a fellow weary climber. This is Suoji - before we encouraged him to join us on the never-ending path back down.
The long way downWhat do you mean, this MIGHT be the right way down?
The long way downGlynn puts on a positive face as Suoji starts to realise he's joined a trek with the crazy people!
We made itThe triumphant pair celebrate a successful descent.
sunset over the toriiWe made it back down just in time to catch the sun setting over the floating torii. You can see why the Japanese like it here so much.
