"The Golden Voyage" to "Jurassic Park"

Traveling on an Arab-style boat and landing on an island with dragons lets you feel a bit like Sinbad... 😉 Or discovering Jurassic Park. We are at the heart of the National Park, Komodo Island!
Early in the morning we were witness to another spectacle of 'Flying Foxes' returning from their night hunt. After breakfast we anchored at the Komodo Village from where all trails start. While on the island we were lucky again and saw about 6 Komodo Dragons on our hike. Quite exciting again! Early afternoon we started to make our long way back to Flores stopping at Manta Point in the middle of the sea to snorkel for Manta Rays. But we "only" saw one. Late in the afternoon we were back in Labuan Bajo on Flores. At first we couldn't find a place to stay for the night. But then we got lucky at the end of the main street staying in a brand new hotel and enjoying the air condition 😉 After a well-deserved shower we all met again for a nice dinner at the "Mediterranean".

Reisen auf einem arabischen Bootstyp und auf einer Insel mit Drachen zu landen laesst dich ein wenig fuehlen wie Sindbad... 😉 Oder auf Entdeckung im Jurassic Park. Wir sind nun im Herzes Nationalparks. Komodo Island!
Frueh morgens werden wir erneut Zeugen eines spektakulaeren Schauspiels der 'Fliegenden Fuechse', die von ihrer Nachtjagd zurrueckkehren. Nach dem Fruehstueck ankern wir im Komodo Dorf von wo alle Wanderungen starten. Wir hatten wieder Glueck und sahen 6 Komodo Drachen auf unserer Wanderung.
So cool! Am fuehen Nachmittag stachen wir wieder in See zu unserem langen Weg zurrueck nach Flores. Unterwegs stoppten wir noch einmal am Manta Point draussen auf See um nach Manta Rochen zu schnorcheln. Leider sahen wir "nur" einen. Spaet am Nachmittag waren wir dann zurrueck in Labuan Bajo auf Flores. Zuerst gestaltete sich die Suche nach einer Uebernachtung etwas schwierig. Aber dann fanden wir endlich ein nagelneues Hotel am Ende der Hauptstrasse und genossen die Klimaanlage 😉 Nach einer wohlverdienten Dusche trafen wir uns alle wieder zum Abendessen im "Mediterranean".
