Hadn't had any trips for a while but we finally made our way to Indonesia for our summer vacation. We only had 12 days, so we moved quickly through Bali and Lombok to try and see as much as we could.
It was a 7 hour flight from Seoul to Bali.
We arrived in Bali in the evening and had a driver waiting for us at the airport. We reserved a place in Ubud called T-House. It was lovely!!! Very spacious, with TWO outdoor showers, two bedrooms, a study, livingroom, kitchen. It was surrounded by a Koi pond. Every morning the cook would come to ask us what we'd like for breakfast and bring the ingredients to cook it in our kitchen.
We were planning to only spend 3 nights but we ended up stay one more night since it was so relaxing in Ubud.
Our first full day in Ubud our driver Rama took us a few hours outside the city to bring us to the most beautiful rice fields. I was pumped to take pictures of these!! We had lunch and then we headed back to Ubud where we stopped at a Monkey forest. You can buy some peanuts
or bananas and feed them... cautiously😊 Some of them were a bit too aggressive to my liking. Tip... if you have pockets, make sure they're empty... they will check and take whatever's in them. The baby monkeys were very co-operative, and fantastic little models, they we're showing off and posing for the camera.
The second day Bren and I rented a scooter and we toured around Ubud all day stopping to eat and shop... lots of shopping😊 We also checked out another Monkey forest.... on Monkey forest Rd. the monkeys there were much more tame and even had one climb onto my shoulders. In the evening we watched a traditional baliness performance with beautiful chanting and dancing. Our driver Rama was part of the performance and we met him after the show for some dinner. Our 3rd day we just relaxed and did a little more shopping.
The next morning we packed up and was on our way to Lombok, which is the Island next to bali. 2 hour drive, 4 hour ferry ride, and another 1 hour drive. we didn't make it in time to catch the boat to the Island we were planning on going to that evening

So cute, posing for me! so we spent one night in Sengigi. Next morning was on a boat to Gili Air.
We weren't all that impressed when we arrived... it was pretty dirty, garbage all over and the beach was quite small. We spent the day on the beach and snorkled. We got a guest house and decided to spend one night and then be on our way.
The next morning we left for Gili Meno. We got a guest house on the other side of teh Island where barely anyone was... although it only took about an hour to go around the Island. The guest house we wante dto stay at was full since it's recommended in the lonely planet so we go another room at a newer place that did not have a "real" toilet yet. The room was very nice, although shared shower and toilet. we really enjoyed Gili Meno... very relaxing, nice beach. The had sea turtles in teh area and was pumped to go snorkling to find some. We hired a guy to take us farther out and snorkled for the morning. We saw turtles!!! And one REALLY big one!! So cool!!! We spend 3 nights at Gilli Meno... beach
and snorkling everyday. Our last two nights were spend on Gili Trawanagan. The biggest of the 3 Gilis and most popular. Great atmosphere there! Great choice of restaurants, big beach, lots of fish to see. Spend the day snorkling once again and laying on the beach.
Our last day we left early to head back to Bali. We took a plane from Lombok to Bali this time because it was less a hassle... almost the same prices as a ferry/bus, and MUCH faster.
Our flight back to seoul was at 12am so we stored our bags at the airport and spend teh day in Kuta. I didn't really like Kuta, compared to were we had just come from. The people were a bit to aggressive, compared to the Island people and the people in Ubud. We just spend the day walking around. and then heading to the Airport that night.
It was a great trip. Indonesia is lovely. I highly recommend Ubud... very cultural, great food and the people are very kind.
