Feb 9-12: So the story about our LOOOONNG journey to Lombok. We had purchased tickets for bus transport from Legian directly to Padang Bai (through a transport company called Perama)--we were told it would be about a 1.5-2 hours bus ride. When we got on the bus--and it was a pretty old bus with NO air conditioning & plastic/leather-covered seats--the driver started reading out names of different... Read Full Entry

me and the boys who went swimming with us. they kept on saying the water was SO cold--they are probably just too used to the heat. they were so funny! there were a couple Marco's and a Marcus....one of them said he was 15 years old (though he looked maybe 10). They tried on Lizzy's SPF 55 sunblocked, but because their faces were wet it was hard to rub in the sunblock properly. They thought it would make their faces white. hehe

we went to this restaurant two nights in a row for dinner. the food was great, the people were so friendly and the service was excellent too! they gave us complimentary dessert both nights--fried banana with honey & they served us a complimentary cocktail too! oh...and the electricity went out the first night we were there & all these flies swarmed towards the candles. apparently, black-outs happen all the time

It had a swim-up bar...the pool floor was made of a mosiac of stones...a pool-side spa...and a HUGE slide (unfortunately it was out of service when we were there). We also went swimming a couple times at night. I floated on my back to see the stars--which was amazing! There were so many stars, but something was missing---there was no moon! It's odd because during our entire 9-day stay in Bali & Lombok, we never once saw the moon.
