Nunukan - turtles everywhere and a jellyfish lake to swim in

Nunukan was one of the anchors of my trip, because it was essentially a deserted island with a huge house reef and lagoon, located near a top site for manta rays and a jelly fish lake (aka lake full of jellies that have been isolated from predators for so long that they don't sting any more). Eagle ray from the pier!

It was the last day - I saw a huge thing swimming under the pier...it was an eagle ray! The folks at Nunukan said they see them sometimes, but rarely, I loved seeing another one. It was really windy so all of my pictures from above are pretty bad, but he was the highlight of the day.
