We arrived in the Semarang harbor at Tanjung Emas late in the night. It is about 1.5 miles from the city center. Semarang is nestled into a deep curve along Java’s northeastern coast. This stupa has the top off so that the Buddha can be seen. Looking at a number of them, you can see the Buddha inside, but many of the heads are missing.
