When we arrived at Attaqwa Mosque, We saw Kaska and Johaina (
from Philippines) are sitting on the stairs. But why only two of them? Where are the others?
We approach them and then we find out that we are left behind. There is one person that we know, sitting on other side of the stairs (
I know he is one of the committee yesterday). We approach him asked if he can help us to contact the committee on the truck. He called someone and then tell us that one of the truck (
the participant are transported by police trucks) is returning to the city to pick us up. After waiting for about 45minutes, the guys is approaching us and said that there will be no truck returning to the city for us. Then he took us to the end of the road where a rented car is waiting for us. one member of committee is there waiting for us and another two student from Attaqwa is joining us.
The trip to ijen festival is meant to be a funny trip for Me. despite being left behind in Bondowoso we get another experience that can't be get by other participant. We
spent our 45minutes waiting with playing some games. I felt like brought back to my childhood by the games. Some people even curious to see what this 6people are doing there. They come closer to where we stand to know more about our business.
Not enough playing for 45minutes. We continue our games inside the car. We laugh, and sometimes shouting to compete with the car's engine that struggle to climb the steep road with pot hole scattered everywhere. The other passengers just smiling to see this 6person being crazy.
We stopped playing when the car reach the top of a hill. The view is gorgeous. mile of mile coffee plantation with mountains as it's back ground. The car stopped in front of sub district office, and another car is ready to take us to the hotel. We saw that the car might be not enough for all of us.Especially everyone of us accompanied with big carrier/bag. When the driver asked us to get in the car, none of us moved our feet. Then i asked how far the hotel is. The guy said it is only 10 minutes walking. So without any command 6 of us walk to
the direction given by the guy followed by the students and committee.
The decision to walk was a good choice that we took, because the view on our way to the hotel is beautiful. Farm field with Mount Ijen as the back ground and shined by sunset light made us stoped a few times to get some pictures.
The other participant are queuing for watching civet feeding when we arrived at the hotel's yard. I took my room's key and skipped the civet watching session. After i put my bag in the room, i joined the other participants to see the process of making the coffee.
It is about 7pm when I come back to my room. After a short bath (
the water is so cold), i joined my new friends (
the participant and committee) in the cafetaria. The committee distributed our dinner and after we finished our dinner, we make a fire on the yard.
9pm, I left the people to take a short sleep before wake up again at 12 midnight to climb mount Ijen.
