Day Three - 26 June 09
A very fresh air and peace environment especially in the morning is the best enjoyment as accommodating at this Green Field Bungalow, away from the pick and rush city life.
Taman Ayun Temple
Same as the day before, En.Wade picked us up at 9am and we first visited Taman Ayun Temple, about 18km north to Denpasar. It is a beautiful old temple (from empire of Mengwi) within a big garden; one of the famous Balinese’s architecture design which is “Multistory roof temple” available here. The temple site is surrounded by fishpond and masonry wall and tourist is not allowed to go inside.
Jatiluwih Rice Terrace
Well known as the most beautiful rice terrace in the Bali. From Taman Ayun we took about 45min to 60mins to reach there. My GOD!!! Unbelievable!!! What a disappointment! The view here is nothing special at all. Tegallalang rice terrace was even better than here. Nevertheless, we can not blame anyone also, because the harvest time is past whereby the paddies were cut and left nothing. According to a lots of travel articles, this location is well recommended, so we still believe that
over here shall be a very nice place if came in the right timing.
Beratan Lake & Ulun Danu Beratan Temple
After visited Jatiluwih, we then head to Beratan Lake to enjoy a fresh mountain air and its scenic beauty of the Lake Beratan and its “Ulun Danu” temple. We passed through some steep terrain and we found the landscape is very scenic.
Beratan Lake is a beautiful wide lake encircled by the cool temperature and blanketed by fog. The water is clear and calm with beautiful mountain as backdrop view. There are plenty of boats standby at lakeside has added the beauty of this place.
Located in the lakeside of Beratan - Pura Ulun Danu is the beautiful & famous Hindu temple complex. When the lake water is going up, this temple is looked like adrift above water because the water encircles.
This place also very popular among the local population for boat trips or just relaxation. We walked around there without being pestered by hawkers and self-declared guides. The climate in Beratan is quite comfortable too with breathtaking view and you will find many tourist visits this place.
Lunch -
Ubud
Green Field Bungalow in morning Babi Guling
Today we took a very late lunch at about 3pm due to time over spent at Beratan Lake. Initially we are plan not to take any food before dinner, however our driver En. Wade felt very hungry and therefore we stopped half way when heading to Tanah Lot for lunch. En. Wade leaded us to a small stall which selling the famous local food called “Babi Guling” (Pork). Before coming over Bali, I heard from my sister - Esther commented that the “look & feel” of the Babi Guling was not nice and “scary”. So for her she never try on it and makes us have no high expectation on this food too.
Babi Guling served with a portion of rice and mixed pork’s dishes which cook from different part of a pig inclusive of fried skin, steam meat, soup and etc (do not know how to describe it). Yes! It’s delicious!! Not bad, a MUST try food in Bali too. The total bill is RP 45,000 for 3 persons, a low cost spending lunch yet it was great.
Tanah Lot Temple
Tanah Lot means as “Land in the middle of the sea”.
Ubud
Green Field Bungalow in morning A temple was built on a large offshore rock, as on the high tide the temple seem like floating on the ocean. However, during the evening time which at the low tide period people can walk to the temple. There are other few temples situated adjacent to this well known temple too. Nowadays, Tanah Lot is very popular for sunset and photography, therefore the best time to visit here is during late afternoon. Due to many people over there, it will be very difficult for us to take good photos, therefore more patient is required.
Dinner Dirty Duck & Seafood Grill
Once again we decided to take dinner at the same place - Bebek Bengil Restaurant which is same as the day before, mainly because of its “Crispy Dirty Duck” meal as well as its nice environment. The “Mixed Seafood Grill” is another dish we have ordered for the night and it was delicious too.
