Plunge Pool Ahimsa Villa
We're lounging by the amazing plunge pool, to the left are 2 waterfalls, so peaceful!!!!!!!!!! So I usually try to tell myself the jetlag thing is just in my head and the more I think about it the worse it is, it’s like the whole altitude sickness I felt in Peru…right…right, nausea had overcome me and there was no meditating or “thinking” myself out of this one. It happened right after we spent a few hours on the roof-deck and immediately the room was spinning and I had no appetite. Yes that’s right, me of all people, someone who can eat whenever food is offered, actually didn’t want to put anything near my mouth. I powered through though, Al feeling great helped me along my moans and groans and we made it to the airport en route to Bali. We ended up on a flight with the end destination Perth, and it did make Al a little homesick, we both just wanted so much to head back and see the family and all of Al’s friends and really got us even more excited to be heading back in a few weeks!
We flew Jetstar…2 ½ hours to Bali, so one would think this flight should be a breeze right?? Not so much….we both had a terrible flight, just wanting to be in a comfortable bed, both of us with a bit of Jetlag at this point and the 2 ½ hours felt more like the 14 we had so easily maneuvered.
Arrived safely at Bali and thankfully we raced to the visa line and into the immigration line without a hassle. The lines quickly stacked up so we were very very happy we weren’t lollygagging ☺
Bags were there ready and waiting for us….it’s always such a wonderful sight to see after leaving places is your bags safe and sound! But let me preface the bag issue by explaining to you what exactly is in our “wedding bag” and the dramas we have entailed. We have brought with us gifts of Boston Mints in these great tins for everyone at the wedding to take home, we also had matchbooks engraved with our names and the date of the wedding, the engraving is done in tin. Upon arrival to Singapore we were stopped for a random screening of our bags so we had no problem passing them along, but the security officers starting buzzing over our “wedding bag”and asked us to open it wondering if there were any electronics in there. We were so confused; we still have no idea what they were seeing. We opened the matchbooks and they rolled them around in their hands, then sent the bag again through. I explained to them the writing was done in tin….they just kept looking at us strangely, talking amongst each other, then finally let us through. We have no idea what was showing up on the xray machine….so onto our bags in Bali. You have to clear immigration with out your bags in Bali, the bags go through the xrays without you, so we picked up the bag and there were huge pink chalk x marks and lines drawn all over it! We are assuming it was to flag the inspections guy at the exit to check it out, but they were all very busy with other travelers and we were soooo tired, we slipped out with out the bag being seen.
The only other place this bag is going to have to go through an xray machine is in Perth and we are sending this bag with one of Al’s friends, so hopefully it won’t be a problem and if you end up getting your gift at the wedding, you will know the extent it had to go to get here! Oh and of course I forgot, we didn’t end up adding an extra bag to our lovely Jetstar reservation, and anyone who has flown Jetstar can attest to the massive fees you incur such as $20 dollars for every kg!!! Of course this beautiful wedding bag with all our favors is 24kgs…you do the math…..yup they wanted us to pay and said there were no other options. I asked if I could just buy another ticket for the bag…they didn’t find this funny! Any ways the woman only charged us for 8kg in the end but still, the xtra $100 I think is worth the favors!! We hope they make it to Perth!!!!!!!!!
Bali has been phenomenal of course, Al and I think we would like to retire here….ok ok is it silly we are thinking of our retirement??!! The villa is out of this world. We didn’t think anything could compare to our villa we had in January, but this one is amazing. The plunge pool, living area and kitchen are all outside. We have 2 waterfalls that give it such an oasis feeling. The bedroom is the only room with an air-conditioner and it is surrounded by a mosquio net that gives it such a serene feeling. We love it here!!!!!
We have met up with Dave and Sarah who are the couple that are getting married here on Wednesday. It was so wonderful to get to see them again and to see Al so happy with his friends. I have met many more of Al’s friends he has been talking so much about so it's been really fun for me!!!!!!
Last night was the ever so awaited Bucks and Hen’s night. Al and I left each other at 3pm to have drinks with the ladies and the boys. It was a great night. Us ladies ended up at Anasurna (i think it's the right spelling), which is a restaurant on the beach. We were upstairs on huge couches lounging and drinking and eating and watched a gorgeous sunset. We continued on into Bali to a little bar and did some dancing. I ended up heading home early…Al not so much. Found him this morning on the small foot stool in the living room at 6am…. don’t know any good stories yet. It’s now 9am here, who knows when he will emerge from the mosquito net haven!!! But a great night with the boys is always one to remember!!!!!!
Hopefully today will be all about massages, manis and pedis. For me of course. I have already had a nice swim in our pool to start the day! Breakfast will be starting soon, we have a personal chef come and make our breakfast in our villa for us! We feel a bit spoiled, movie start like…. it’s amazing!
Miss you all…HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER TRACEY!!!!!! I hope you had a fabulous day!
