Hey dudes.. I'm here in Bali which is Surf central.. Everything is surfign here.. which is pretty awesome... Turns out the sun is strong as well, it was cloudty today to start with so, i figured no need for suncream... by the time we ambled to the beach after visiting a million surf shops it was kinda sunny and we sat on the beach for an huor or so. so, i have tanned shoulders which may possibly be a bit red but, hey what you gonna do. So yer today also has been the highlight of Jens trip as she met Boyd from neighbours (who said..."call me Carl... tho turns out what he really said was Call me kyal but Jen (she's watching me type this) wasn't listening much...too busy looking at (in her words) "his ... read more

I was reading about the 100km/hr winds in Ireland while at the same time trying to cope with the heat here in Bali and I was kinda happy sitting in the sun chair dripping in sweat rather than rain. So I ordered an ice cold beer for a euro and settled into my deck chair to watch a (free) movie on the big screen over the swimming pool in front of our nice hotel. I was kinda thinking I might get a massage before I headed to bed (about 2 euro) so I could sleep like a baby in our nice air-con room (e10)! Bali is quite nice but one thing really gets on your nerves after a while....and thats the numerous people thinking your are rich and that you would love to buy something they ... read more

Hi people, You will be glad to here i made it back from the site of the half buried dead, that's because we didn't go because of the first rain they have had in 6 months, and there might have been too many bodies on show and a bit of a stench, nice! Instead we visited a crocodile farm, whilst there you can pay them an extra 5 pounds and they will throw a live duck in the croc pen just to see how long the duck will last ! That's entertainment Bali style. After this we went to Jatiluwih, which means "very beautiful",and this it was. Of scuba diving for the next 3 days so don't expect any blogs. jeff... read more

Hey all, Well we have now arrived in Bali - since we last wrote we have been to Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Singapore! Koh Phi Phi was amazing - we did a day trip and saw some amazing beaches - (see some of the last pics we put on the blog). It was so hard to find accommodation there though as it is such a popular place but we had a nice little room and it wasn't too expensive which was really lucky after having listened to other people staying there! So after a nice few days there we headed to Phuket where we had a flight booked to Kuala Lumpur. We stayed there for one night but it wasn't great - very resort-y and the beach was absolutely packed with tourists. We went out ... read more

Hi people, Well I managed to get on the plane despite a body being found in Arnold, delaying me be 90 mins! And then another body decided to throw theirselves on to the train line near peterboro again delaying me, I was more than a little concerned when a passenger a couple of rows in front of me started choking, but after a glass of water he carried on eating his bread snacks. Well kuta lived up to its' billing! Benidorm for the Aussies, it's actually not that busy and if you are prepared to haggle you can get a nice discount on just about anything, i've just booked a 3 day PADI course with certificate for 141 pounds, forty pounds less than book price. After 3 days in Kuta I caught the local bus to a place called ... read more

Hello from Bali. It's like Cancun for Australians here. Beaches, clubs, shops and restaurants abound. Great seafood so far, snapper seems to be the favorite catch. Room at the Hard Rock is sub par compared to the expectations they set on their websites, but the pools are some of the best we've ever seen. One particularly disgruntlement with the hotel is the "deluxe room" we booked for $10 more a night. Turns out the only difference between their standard rooms and deluxe is access to a "VIP Pool" which no one uses and does not even have towel service. Save the $10 if you come, it will cover your food for the day. Also of note is that you can get a day pass for just the pool here for US $10. In retrospect we would ... read more

Alrighty! How are you guys? Thats good, I'm good too. It is my first blog from Indonesia (sorry if I kept anyone waiting) and for the occasion I've got a story that I think is pretty wild. Okay, I flew to Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia and everything went great. The flight was short. The lady that sat beside me didn't smell absolutely terrible. I looked out the window and saw the ocean, and as we descended I could make out some waves. It was the first time I had seen good waves, or waves at all, since I came to Asia. I was feeling fresh, and ready to surf, and party, and just have a good time. Even in the airport I felt good which is unreal because me and airports don't mix. It came time to ... read more
